Hearing connects you to the world and the people you love. It is your most important sense, and you don't want to trust it to just anyone. At Florida Gulf Coast Hearing Center, our staff is highly trained in a variety of hearing technologies and treatment options, so you can be sure that the care you are receiving is best for you. Their goal is to provide patients with high quality service utilizing the most advanced therapeutic and surgical treatments. They make it a priority to develop personal relationships with their patients, engage in continued training on the most up-to-date technologies available.
Dr. Shanai Hill is an audiologist at Florida Gulf Coast Ear, Nose and Throat. It has been nearly 12 years that she, along with her husband Dr. Samuel Hill, started the audiology department at Florida Gulf Coast Ear, Nose and Throat. Prior to this, Dr. Shanai Hill practiced pediatric audiology at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit where she was a lead audiologist on the Cochlear Implant Team. She also worked with a Private Practice ENT in Detroit performing adult hearing and vestibular evaluations. Dr. Hill obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders degree from Michigan State University. She then finished a Masters of Science degree in Audiology at Wayne State University. Finally, she obtained a Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida. Altogether, Dr. Hill has been diagnosing and treating audiovestibular disease for over 18 years.
Billy T. Crooks joined the practice in May, 2015. Billy worked as a popular radio air-personality while obtaining a degree in Marketing from Michigan State University. A native of Mid-Michigan, Billy's musical influences moved him around the country living in St. Louis, New York City, and Nashville. After running his own real estate appraisal company for 11 years in Michigan, Billy decided he wanted to try something new and get away from the cold weather.
Billy's curiosity to "see how things work" since he was a kid taking apart electronics (and often repairing them) coupled with his vast music and sound knowledge made him a perfect candidate for the audiology field. Billy worked with many bands as a sound engineer in Michigan, as well as a major studio in New York City. His longtime friend, Dr. Hill, invited him to move down to sunny Southwest Florida and take over running operations at Florida Gulf Coast Hearing Center. After completing studies with The International Hearing Society, a rigorous training process, and passing a state test, Billy became an official Hearing Aid Specialist.
When not in the office, Billy enjoys playing guitar and recording in his home studio, sports, traveling, and catching up with family and friends.
Dr. Diehl received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Ohio University in 2011 and then pursued her Clinical Doctorate of Audiology at East Tennessee State University. At that time, she was trained through the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical Center. While at VAMC, she was trained in evaluations of hearing, balance, tinnitus, and fitting of hearing aids and other assistive devices (i.e. cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing aids, etc.).
Following graduation, she worked both in private practice and at an ear, nose, and throat practice. Dr. Diehl moved from Dalton, Massachusetts where she was working as a diagnostic and dispensing audiologist at a private practice ENT for both the adult and pediatric populations. She is passionate about improving her patient's quality of life with state-of-the-art hearing technology as well as follow-up care.
Bonnie McVeigh joined our team in March of 2018. She has worked in the hearing industry since 2007. She is originally from New Jersey and has been in Southwest Florida since 2009. Her background ranges from Family Services working with foster children, to the Fine Jewelry and Luxury Furniture industries. Even as a young adult she has always enjoyed helping both children and the elderly.
Bonnie's responsibilities as the Assistant to Audiology start with making Hearing Center patients her number one priority, assisting them as much as possible before scheduling. She also cleans and checks hearing aids to ensure the aids are working their best and performs in -office repairs when needed. Bonnie helps patients feel comfortable maintaining their hearing aids on their own. Along with being the manager of first impressions, Bonnie runs the repair department making sure broken hearing aids are repaired as fast as possible.
When not working, Bonnie enjoys having adventures with her 2 children and husband, as well as volunteering at church with the women's ministry.
"I purchased my hearing Aids from Billy Crooks. I found Billy and the entire staff at Florida Gulf Coast Hearing Center to be excellent in all respects. For them it's all about taking care of the patients. I could not be more pleased with my experience with the people and my hearing aids themselves."

You did a wonderful job at adjusting my Oticon hearing aids! They are working better than ever. I appreciate your patience and diligence at "trouble-shooting" so that the settings are just right. It has made such a difference in my ability to function now. Your effort and skill with the technical programming are greatly appreciated."
